Laptop Rockits

According to a recent report from EDUCASE, laptop ownership on campus moved from 52.8% to 75.8% in the past two years. (ARS Technica)

To address this huge increase in equipment usage, I propose a company that produces laptop sleeves that feature logos of popular licensed characters.

Laptop sleeves are made nylon laminated to neoprene--the same material used in wetsuits. They have a zipper and sometimes feature a pocket on the outside.

This product would be sold first to college campus bookstores, featuring officially licensed collegiate logos or mascots. Next, higher-priced licensed characters such as Aqua Teen Hunger Force would included and sold into the same stores.

Competitors

Existing competitors in the stylized laptop sleeve space are Mixx, Built NY and InCase. Only Mixx offers a laptop sleeve with a licensed characters. (Mixx has two Disney licensed characters in feminine designs)

Interested?

I have a full marketing plan and research data on silk-screen process on this type of material. I also have a relationship with a general manager at a major univeristy bookstore.

I am lacking manufacturing contacts and legal representation in procuring character licensing. Please contact me if you would have knowledge or resources and would like to invest in this opportunity. -> rob at banagale dot com
